Human Nature: Weakness

I have been a fool and I have learned.

I still don't understand entirely how it works but I have been figuring it out. I am a part of The Brute. That is why I know what's happening outside of his domain despite staying in here. As a part of him I have access to the domain and the ability to grant or restrict access. So when my mother who had been killed by The faceless Bastard was suddenly speaking to me asking for access I didn't think. I let her in and the moment she appeared she hugged me. At that point I came to my senses but it was far too late. I'm not sure how it was done. My guess is The Archangel and Dying Man working together but somehow my mother had been brought back and then possessed by The Dying Man in an attempt to get to me and kill me. See, as The Dying Man explained, The ritual used to bring back the brute bound him to me. His power is focused through me. If I die his power drains. The plan probably would of worked if it wasn't for what I said earlier. I am a part of The Brute.

The Dying Man entered my body and began assuming control. I couldn't change to my gas form due to his influence. I could feel myself losing control and then I felt a massive surge of power. I could see The Dying Man in my head and then a giant hand made of smoke and flame came down crushing him. I heard him roaring in pain and anger and then silence. The Dying man wasn't finished yet but he was transferred. The Dying Man's power had grown exponentially somehow during the final days of the earth and while he was still nowhere near as powerful as The Brute he wasn't that easy to destroy. The Brute had pulled him out of me and into it's main mass to properly crush it. I could see them fighting inside of it's mind. The fight was incredibly one sided. The Dying Man couldn't take control and couldn't fight back. He was destroyed by The Brute. Every blow destroying portions of him until nothing was left.

Two fears down and lesson learned. I need to be much more careful.

The Death of those who cannot die.

So I mentioned that a Fear has died. I meant it. The Brute and The Plague Doctor fought for a long time. With each passing moment The Brute seemed to get stronger until he finally overpowered The Plague Doctor and... Well he destroyed him. I don't know if one can really call him dead but The Brute knocked him to the ground and then proceeded to light him up like a flamethrower until he turned into a cloud of green gas and then dissipated into the air. The plague stopped immediately and there has been no other sighting of The Plague Doctor. So I'm pretty sure he's been destroyed.

I have a theory as to why The brute is still getting stronger. I think he's feeding off his war against The Fears. Every time they attack him his power grows. They have no way to win.

Excluding any other servants who may be hiding in their master's domain.

I am the last thing alive that is not one of the fears. The last remaining servants were killed yesterday in a fight between The Brute and The Plague Doctor. During their battle the entire place was destroyed by fire and disease and the last surviving servants happened to be hiding out there. Depending on whether you consider the fears to be living or not I might be the last living thing at all. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

It was never really my attention to have everyone die. I just wanted revenge. Hell I never even really wanted The Brute to rise I just wanted the power to kill Faceless... But now I am pretty much singlehandedly responsible for the end of the world. Oh and also A fear has died today. Yeah I didn't know that was possible either. Something is changing and The Brute is still becoming more powerful.

The Answer to the previous question.

Well apparently The brute's response was to attack The Dying Man in Africa. The entire continent is slowly burning to the ground as the two fears fight. Some of the other fears have come to fight against The Brute but he's become much stronger now somehow. This is strange. The War is ended now that all the humans are dead so why is his power still rising?

I think I will stay here in The Grove of Fetters for now. It's not safe out there.

The Unexpected.

My the fears really are intent on stopping us. It's The Apocalypse. As of a few minutes ago the entire continent of North America was destroyed by the Convocation, The Main cities of Europe are being decimated by a new strain of Black Plague that is airborne and kills in seconds, Africa is being overrun by The Dying Man, Asia is being subjected to a return of The Ice Age and Australia has been desolated by Armies of Intrusion insects. I wonder how The Brute will react to this development.

Glorious War

Watching the world burn is a surprisingly moving sight. Knowing you caused it that's when you feel proud. The entire world has erupted into war. Canada and The United States are still fighting. The fears tried to Assassinate The President but their assassin was killed. It's too late for them to end this now. War is inevitable. The Brute's power grows with every drop of blood spilled.

The rest of the human countries are entering the war now. Choosing sides fighting each other. I assume it won't be long before they all kill each other. I wonder what happens then?

I'm actually not sure what is The Brute's real goal. What does he do once his war is finished?

Vengeance hath come. The God Rises.

I waited in the grove for some time. Finally he arrived. He did not fall for my trap as quickly as I intended but I eventually forced him to enter. The boy waited outside the Grove. Inside we agreed to fight fairly. It was necessary for the plan. I had learned of many of my new powers and I employed one here. Forming a blade out of the air. We fought. I was better than I had expected. I assume this was a side effect of my service. Regardless his skill was beyond mine. I was not going to win. that was obvious. But I had not intended to win a fair fight. He got through my guard and at that moment I could feel the universe freeze. I'm a fan of the theory of multiple universes based on our choices. I could feel this was a big moment. Now was a universe changing moment. I flung my weaponless hand forward a second smoke blade appearing in my hand stabbing into his shoulder. He fell back and I attacked. I cut off his hand  and he fell to his knees clutching it. The birds tried to fly out of the wound but I created a smokescreen rendering them useless. I stood before him and plunged my sword towards his head. At the last second the boy was there. The blade plunged into his chest and he fell backwards against The Bastard. The Bastard caught him at that moment. The Smokescreen disappeared. The Grove shifted into My Master's domain and the remaining birds burst into flame. A sacrifice was required for The Brute's return. I had intended to sacrifice Faceless but the boy worked just as well. Flames roared around The Grove of Fetters as The Brute appeared. I knelt down before his greatness. He was magnificent. The fetters bound Faceless to the ground beside me pulling him down till he was kneeling as well. The Brute looked at him and he burst into flames. I watched him burn with immense glee. Soon all that was left was ash. I looked up at my master and then he was gone. The Grove of fetters remained.


The Brute has risen again. The Faceless Bastard is dead.

Let war sweep the land.

Ready.

You ask if I'm Ready Faceless?

Ha! I am more than ready. Preparations are complete. There is nothing you can do to stop it now.

Bring your little friend. Bring all your little friends. You will all be slaughtered.

War!

There it is. War has started. North America is in turmoil and The Brute himself has been worsening problems in The Middle East. Other countries are stepping in. My power has grown. I am back at full power and increasing. I can now extend The Brute's aura to The Americas without actually being there.

The people are moving at my will. I fear nothing now. Power is all mine. Faceless, The Convocation, The Archangel, The Wooden Girl, The Dying Man maybe even The Slender Man let them come and try to stop me.

The Brute will rise.

Almost time

The Bastard is ready to come at me now is he? Well then come on. I am almost ready for you.

The war I wanted is starting. The Government has called in help to crush the rebellion from The United States. I can easily fan this into war. The Brute shall be awakened. Come Faceless I will be waiting for you in The Grove.

Fire causes smoke.

As expected The response to the razing of an entire town is beneficial to my plans. A group of people attacked a police department a few minutes ago trying to get guns. As well any store that carries guns of any kind have been raided. The people are arming themselves.  A revolution is underway. I doubt the effect would be all that different without my interference. I'm probably just speeding up the process.

Regardless this isn't enough. I need more than just a revolution I need a war.
